Job Description
Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of engineering support services, ensuring prompt and effective technical assistance to vessels. This includes hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, fabrication, welding, and other technical work related to vessel operations. Also ensures the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for assigned vessel machinery and equipment, thereby enhancing reliability, availability, and overall operational readiness. Department Operations Related Department Operations • Oversee and manage the team's execution in providing technical support to vessels. • Ensure proper risk management is applied in every engagement. • Ensure all repair work onboard fleet vessels is addressed and completed in a timely manner. • Provide prompt technical assistance to the team during machinery or other technical breakdowns. • Maintain effective coordination with all relevant stakeholders throughout each engagement. • Ensure the efficient management and utilization of assigned resources. Vessel Availability and Reliability • Ensure that all necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available prior to each engagement. • Coordinate and supervise technical work to ensure effective execution and adherence to agreed timelines with stakeholders for assigned vessels. • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for assigned vessel machinery and equipment in a timely manner. Safety Management System and Company Security System Implementation • Ensure full compliance with the company's Safety Management System and Security System. • Ensure that all necessary permits to work are obtained prior to engagement. • Ensure that all repair engagements are fully documented and include the required risk assessments Department Budget Management • prepare the department’s annual budget. • Monitor and ensure expenses remain within the approved budget. • Follow up on requests for technical supplies, tools, and spares. • Assess whether the required technical work can be performed by the team or if third-party service providers are needed. • Ensure that essential refit, maintenance, and technical work are included in the approved specifications and project plans, ensuring associated expenditures remain within budget for assigned vessels Manpower Resource Management • Ensure that all positions within Engineering Support are fully staffed with qualified and competent personnel. • Conduct employee performance evaluations, provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring, and assess progress to support career development while promoting strong team morale and communication for assigned vessels. • Implement personnel engagement programs to foster alignment with the company’s standards.
Requirements
• Preferable Maritime Related Degree (Marine Engineering) or other Engineering Fields (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) • Ship Management related trainings • Technical Maintenance related trainings • Leadership Training • • TESDA and other related technical skills • • Must be analytic and can conceptualize long-term plans in relation to manpower needs and development looking at the holistic Operations of the company • Must be a self-starter and can manage multiple tasks ensuring quality outputs and achievement of set targets and deadlines • Must know how to manage a team and budget • Must know how to impart knowledge to others
